DECARBITE® is
an absorbing product. This product is sodium hydroxide carried on
a silica base. The natural affinity of sodium hydroxide to acid
gasses makes it a desirable material to use in the absorption of
the acid gas carbon dioxide. Using technology developed by P. W.
Perkins Co., Inc., sodium hydroxide is fixed to silica to form a
granular product that provides a surface area suitable for the rapid
quantitative absorption of carbon dioxide.
The
sodium hydroxide content in DECARBITE®
is high, approximately 90%, and accounts for the aggressive product
performance and exceptional capacity for absorption of carbon dioxide.
The universally
accepted Carbon Dioxide absorbent, DECARBITE®
is a consumable chemical absorbent. It is a specially formulated
mixture of Sodium Hydroxide on to an inert silica carrier providing
a surface area especially suited for the rapid, high performance
and total absorption
of CO2 on contact.
-
Efficiency:
For the rapid or high performance quantitative absorption of CO2
in the ppm range
-
Capacity:
Is in excess of 40% by weight at standard temperature pressure
(STP) under optimal conditions 100g of DECARBITE®
will absorb 40g of CO2 at flow rates of 100ml/min.
-
Handling:
DECARBITE® is a dry granular chemical with
a high caustic content. Instructions on hazardous materials
handling are stated on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
that is included with the product.
